When a Muslim woman is struck by adversity, she immediately turns to her Lord. She calls upon Him, pleads with Him for help, and begs Him to remove this calamity, to give her a reward, and to forgive her sins.
Allaah Praised and Exalted be He says:
“O you who believe, seek help through patience and prayer. Verily, Allaah is with the patient.”
al-Baqarah 153
The Prophet Allaah’s prayers and peace be upon him says:
“If you ask, ask Allaah and if you seek help, seek help from Allaah. “1
Hudhayfah ibn al-Yamaan May Allaah be pleased with him has said:
“People will experience a time when only the one who makes supplications will be saved, like the drowning man. “2
Ibn al-Qayyim May Allaah have mercy on him has said, “Supplication is one of the most effective medicines. It is the enemy of calamity, it makes it disappear and heals it. It prevents calamity from coming, it removes it and reduces it when it comes. It is also the weapon of the believer. “3
